Colin Farell Plays Santa To Patients At Children’s Hospital

Most children excitedly look forward to their annual visit from Santa Claus and are up at dawn on Christmas Day to open their presents.

But for those who have to spend the festivities in hospital, it can be a pretty grim time for them – until a generous celebrity arrives to cheer them up. This year, the patients at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Dublin were graced with a visit by actor Colin Farrell, who arrived unannounced the make their day.

The Hollywood star, who was born and bred in the city, dropped in on the hospital on Christmas Day, bringing hundreds of presents for the sick children with him. His unannounced visit surprised staff and patients alike, and according to reports, even his publicist was unaware he would be there.

He cuddled the kids and chatted away to them as he spent some time in the hospital spreading some Christmas cheer to them. And excited parents took to their Twitter pages to share their delight about the actor’s visit with the world. Colin, 35, is in Dublin for the Christmas break and on Christmas Eve was spotted in the town watching U2 front man Bono busk for charity with some other singers.

Brangelina Donate $340,000 Health Care Fund for Children in War-Torn Somalia

Celebrity couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have donated 340,000, to financed the health care of children who lost their homes in the war-torn African nation of Somalia.

Pitt and Jolie who are known for their philanthropic acts, hoped the money will greatly help these children who are in dire need of help at the moment. Based on the data released by the United Nations, the recent famine in Somalia already killed 29,000 children under five years old.

Mohamed Dahir, of Humanitarian Initiative Just Relief Aid, said Badbaado camp, in Mogadishu, serves around 300 women and children each day. He added the donation from the Hollywood stars’ Jolie-Pitt Foundation will help his group battle to save lives.

Moreover, it was learned that Jolie has been a goodwill ambassador for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees for over ten years.

Bruce Dern Says Taking Risks is Secret for Success in Hollywood

To aspiring actors who wants to make it big in Hollywood, one of the best tips is not being afraid to take risks.

Seventy five year-old veteran actor Bruce Dern revealed that in his 50 years in Hollywood, taking risks is his secret as to why he has lasted this long in the business.

“There are two things that are essential,” he recalled. “One of them is you’ve got to learn to dance — and that means not dancing lessons but dancing around the problems on the set every day, which are never personal but we always take them as personal. And two is to take roles that put you on the edge. Take roles that are risky.”

“I’ve been prone to that my entire career,” he continued, “and this character, Frank in ‘Big Love,’ was extremely risky. You never knew what he was going to do or who he was.”

Dern said he was extremely proud that he, Laura Dern and Diane Ladd earned side-by-side stars on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame last November — the first family so honored. (Ladd is Bruce Dern’s ex-wife and Laura Dern’s mother.) The three are also the first family to all have been nominated for Academy Awards, he said.

The 2011 Labor Day proved to be a memorable day for superstar actor Mark Wahlberg and his five-year-old son Mike Wahlberg.

This developed after the two had a memorable bonding moment together as the actor taught his son how to use his mini motorbike. According to reports, The Fighter actor patiently and lovingly taught his son how to enjoy his motorbike.

Wahlberg also took time to show his son how to safety use his motorbike by insisting he put on a helmet and protective body gear. What a devoted father!

With his superstar father by his side, the young Wahlberg had a great time during the Labor Day.

The actor became famous for his 1991 debut as a musician with the band Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch.
