Some of you may be aware of this little truth but we wouldn’t be surprised if some of you were clueless to the fact that you should NEVER pay UPFRONT fees to any talent agent or manager.

No matter how tempting it may be, no matter how talented you think you (or even your child) may be, you should never have to put up money just to sign or acquire a talent agent or manager.

Remember, talent agents or talent managers essentially work on your behalf and get a commission based on the projects you book.  The standard commission for talent agents is 10% and it’s 15% to 25% (and sometimes up to 35%) for talent managers.

If a manger or talent agent charges you just to sign a contract with them, they are a scam, so beware.
