in 25 Things Every Actor Should Know Before Coming to Hollywood,Featured

camera_is_your_best_friendPlease tell me you’re not camera shy? I’m assuming since you’re an aspiring actor, you are most certainly not shy of a camera. Are you? I hope not. Another rule of thumb: the camera is your friend. No time to be shy. One of the most important things about being a great actor is your stage presence. The more comfortable you are with being in front of the camera, the better your performance will be on screen. If you’re not used to being in front of the camera, better start getting used to it, and soon. Think of the camera as your friend. Your best friend. Even if you’re not in Hollywood you can start practicing getting used to being in front of the camera. Start taking lots and lots of pictures of yourself. Have your friends take them. Even when they’re not around, take some self-portraits. Experiment with yourself.

And what about video? I’m sure you know Youtube is a great place to have fun and practice being comfortable in front of the camera. Experiment. Act out a scene from one of your favorite movies or television shows.  Ask your family and friends to leave feedback and comments on your Youtube page. The most important thing is to get used to being in front of the camera and being yourself for right now.
